El Salvador

Like Water
for Chocolate

As in the movie “Water for Chocolate”, this family’s love is expressed through food.
It’s around the kitchen and barbecue area that most activities take place. The barbecue is an object that connects both owners: he wanted a wood oven to make pizzas and she wanted an exterior furnace, so we created an oven with a glass door to watch the flames.

connecting
a swiss cabin
with the tropics

We connected the best of two worlds to give our clients (husband from Switzerland and wife from Venezuela) their dream home: Swiss inspired rooftop and chimney and the lush green vegetation and patios of the Tropics.
The house is distributed in mid levels to adapt to the natural slopes of the terrain. The main platform is inconspicuously placed one floor under the main access level between bamboo trees.
The house opens up connecting to its surroundings, so they can enjoy the amazing view of the volcano and beautiful sunsets and sunrises!

Size: 400m2
